Eggxtraordinaire: an exhibition devoted to the egg

Eggxtraordinaire: an exhibition devoted to the egg

During the Easter period, from April 3 to May 3, 2026, the Eggxtraordinaire exhibition will take place. Dedicated to the egg, this event will bring together 94 chefs, craftsmen and artists from around the world.

Ambre Prevel

EGGXTRAORDINAIRE, an exhibition conceived by pastry chef Frédéric Bau and supported by the De Main de Maître association, will be held at Galerie Joseph, 16 rue des Minimes, in the heart of Paris's Marais district. This free event explores the egg in all its forms, at the crossroads of craft and art.

An even bigger second edition

After a highly acclaimed first edition in 2023, which brought together 51 craftsmen and artists and attracted over 2,270 visitors, the exhibition returns in 2026 in an even more ambitious format. Supported by its patron and partner Valrhona, this new edition will bring together nearly a hundred participants to celebrate the egg, the universal and essential symbol of Easter, through a wide variety of creations.

Whether in chocolate, sugar, raw or transformed, the egg is approached as a veritable field of expression. Chocolatiers, patissiers, art craftsmen and artists are invited to discuss this unifying theme and imagine original works. Wood, ceramics, metal or chocolate: materials cross and respond to each other to sublimate this perfect form, charged with symbolism.

An event marked by a desire to pass on knowledge

Chaired by pastry chef Pierre Hermé and chocolate sculptor Patrick Roger, and sponsored by chef Anne-Sophie Pic and wood-turning artist Pascal Oudet, the exhibition also asserts a strong commitment to transmission. Ten young talents from manual arts schools will be honored and take part in a dedicated competition.

through EGGXTRAORDINAIRE, the De Main de Maître association is pursuing its ambition to explore " the fine line between craftsmanship and art " and to showcase " the intelligence of the hand, the gesture and the material ".
