The verdict fell on Monday evening: Denmark, represented by chef Christian Wellendorf, won the Bocuse d'Or Europe 2026. Norway took second place, Italy completed the podium and France came fifth, after two days of particularly tough competition.

Scandinavian domination

Organized for the first time in Marseilles, as part of the Sirha Méditerranée trade show, this continental selection event brought together twenty European teams, who came to secure their ticket to the world final. In a competition marked by a high technical and creative level, the Danish candidate stood out for the precision of his cooking and the consistency of his dishes, confirming Scandinavian domination of the competition.

Behind him, Norway also demonstrated its historic consistency in the event, while Italy put in a solid performance to take third place. A number of special prizes were also awarded, notably to Sweden for the plateau theme and to Finland for Mediterranean flavors, underlining the diversity of the culinary approaches presented.

On the French side, France came in 5ᵉ position, with a performance hailed for its technicality. This ranking enables France to qualify for the world final, the main objective of this European stage.

Created in 1987 by Paul Bocuse, the competition is considered one of the most prestigious in the world, a veritable showcase of international gastronomic excellence. This European selection is a key stage in the process, with only a small number of candidates selected for the grand final. All eyes now turn to Lyon, where the world final will be held in January 2027.
