Exceptional Hotel A place dear to all history lovers, since it was from here that the first hot-air balloons took to the skies in the 18th century. Built in 1892 to house the Thiers Foundation, and transformed into a private club in 1985, since 2008 the building has been home to an atypical hotel that combines the service of a palace with the decor of a château in a playful, offbeat spirit. Extensively restored in 2021 under the guidance of decorator Laura Gonzalez, the hotel has retained its whimsical character, with 22 rooms and 26 suites (two with terrace) dressed in a cheerful mix & match of Versailles parquet flooring, floral motifs and Japanese wallpaper. All open onto the immense garden (5,000 m2 in the heart of Paris!) reinvented by landscape designer Xavier de Chirac, who enriched it with a 19th-century gazebo. A haven of peace and delight, it is also home to the Bellefeuille restaurant (and its terrace), offering witty cuisine led by chef Grégory Garimbay. A special mention goes to the historic library of the former Fondation Thiers, which now houses the bar and the Guerlain spa, with three treatment rooms, a fitness area and a 15 m-long swimming pool.
