Exceptional Hotel

A place dear to all history lovers, as this is where the first hot-air balloons took flight in the 18th century. Built in 1892 to house the Thiers Foundation and converted into a private club in 1985, the building has been home since 2008 to a unique hotel that combines the service of a luxury hotel with the decor of a château, all with a playful and offbeat spirit. Extensively restored in 2021 under the guidance of interior designer Laura Gonzalez, the hotel has retained its whimsical charm with 51 rooms and suites (two with terraces) adorned with a cheerful mix-and-match style—Versailles-style parquet floors, floral patterns, and Japanese-inspired wallpaper. The property opens onto a vast garden (5,000 m² right in the heart of Paris!) reimagined by landscape architect Xavier de Chirac, who has enhanced it with a 19th-century gazebo. A haven of peace but also of culinary delights, as it is home to the Bellefeuille restaurant (and its terrace), which offers spirited cuisine led by Chef Grégory Garimbay. The sweet treats and plated desserts, meanwhile, are the creation of pastry chef Coline Doussin. Finally, a special mention goes to the historic library of the former Thiers Foundation, which now houses the Guerlain-branded bar and spa, featuring three treatment rooms, a fitness area, and a 15-meter-long swimming pool.
