"Le Relais Saint-Germain is anything but a hotel..." Southwestern chef Yves Camdeborde is known for his willingness to stray from the beaten track, as evidenced by one of his most famous feats. Renouncing a prestigious career in the capital's palaces, in 1992 he opened La Régalade, a small neighborhood restaurant where he laid the foundations of bistronomy, a new way of thinking about modern cuisine accessible to all. In 2004, he moved to Saint-Germain-des-Prés to launch Le Comptoir and inaugurate the famous Relais Saint-Germain... No hotel, then, but rather a guest house with 22 rooms, each different from the next, with rustic or contemporary furnishings, a large library, a minispa or a terrace overlooking the Odéon crossroads. The many regulars swear by this address, not only for its charm, but also for its friendly, efficient service when it comes to booking a visit to the museum or tickets for a soccer match. And then, of course, there's Yves' irresistible restaurant on the first floor!
