Exceptional Hotel
A legendary landmark in Avignon, located right in the heart of the historic center, the Hôtel d’Europe is an integral part of the papal city’s heritage. Nestled in the former residence of the Marquis de Graveson, just steps from the city walls, this 16th-century palace has preserved the elegance of its origins, from its Renaissance façade to its salons, which once welcomed Napoleon Bonaparte. Antique furniture, fine fabrics, and high ceilings create a setting that perfectly captures the atmosphere of a grand aristocratic home. Upstairs, the 39 rooms and five suites carry on this refined art of living, with that extra touch of soul unique to the grand dames of the French hotel industry. In the cobblestone courtyard, the gourmet restaurant La Vieille Fontaine extends the experience: Chef Pascal Auger presents a subtle cuisine rooted in Provençal traditions yet reimagined with boldness and finesse. Opened in 1799, it is one of the oldest hotels in France.
