Gault&Millau's review 2025

Just 10 km from the Ispéguy pass and 11 from the old Voie des Francs pilgrimage route, this traditional Basque house has been in the Arcé family for five generations. You'll feel right at home here, choosing one of the 20 subtly modernized rooms and suites, with splashes of color, brass lamps and comfortable bedding. Most have a balcony or terrace overlooking the river or hydrangea garden, with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Depending on the season, you can enjoy Pascal Arcé's local cuisine in the beautiful dining room nestled in the former trinquet or on the terrace, shaded by century-old plane trees and overlooking the Nive river. Loungers by the pool or river are just a stone's throw away, unless you'd prefer to explore Pamplona or San Sebastian, just an hour's drive away..
