Gault&Millau's review 2025

Artfully restored over the centuries, this 17th-century château, a Relais & Châteaux member, is now a charming haven with 23 rooms and suites combining antique and contemporary furnishings, period carpentry and luxurious bathrooms, all opening onto the 8-hectare park, which features an outdoor swimming pool and undergrowth that has become a favorite refuge for a herd of free-roaming fallow deer. The hotel is also home to the Lassey restaurant, run by Benjamin Linard, which offers tasty cuisine served in a vaulted room overlooking the medieval village of Châteauneuf-en-Auxois or the gardens and pond. Not far from Fontenay Abbey, a warm and refined address.
