As the only hotel located inside the Palace of Versailles, this property offers a truly unique experience: the chance to live like the Sun King for a night… The Airelles hotel group had to wait six years (and invest several million euros in renovations) to make this happen, but we’d say it was definitely worth it! In the heart of the most beautiful palace in the world, within the apartments of the king’s chief financial officer, the venue successfully recreates the atmosphere of the 18th century intact, all while avoiding kitsch or ostentation. In this building designed by architect Jules Hardouin-Mansart (a small miracle of balance and proportion), the group has brought together the finest of French craftsmanship for the decor, notably the 3,500 meters of Pierre Frey fabrics, reissued from the house’s archives or designed based on period engravings. A sumptuous lounge extends the lobby with its gold-leafed wood paneling, velvet banquettes, and master paintings; the 14 rooms and suites arranged around the garden terrace are adorned with beaded chandeliers and floral fabrics. Well-being is truly regal here thanks to the Spa Airelles, an underground haven of peace featuring a majestic indoor pool and offering exclusive rituals by LBA – Laboratoires Botanique Avancée. Everything here embodies the spirit of the Grand Siècle, refined and harmonious. Conceived by Alain Ducasse, the gourmet restaurant further enriches the experience with a true five-course feast inspired by Louis XIV’s favorite recipes and served on exquisite Limoges porcelain.
