Bakery Le Fournil strikes a good balance between tradition and modernity. The products have retained a tried-and-tested traditional base, whether in the art of shaping, kneading or dosing ingredients. Benjamin Vandaele likes to share his craft with others, and at open days he shows them a little of his art. Crowned France's Best Bakery in April 2014, he gives us a fine demo of cheese pie. Macaroons and Flanders waffles are among the house specialties. Traditional, wheat sourdough molded baguettes are part of a much-appreciated range.
