Description

A family exploitation passed on from father to son for four generations. With vineyards spread over three communes classified as Grand Cru Bouzy since 2014, the domain is now managed by Maëlle and Jean-Christophe Delavenne, winegrowers who respect the environment as much as possible by mainly using natural molecules.

Gault&Millau's review
From the garnet robe with bricking edges, the nose is both deep and heady, with concentrated velvety red and black fruits (plum, rather than berries) and a quite intense perfume rising above. Fruits on the palate are fondu, no tannins but not lacking in depth, as concentrated red capsicum notes add “heat”. A still red wine for the main meal.

Gault&Millau's review
A perfumed nose of apple blossom and and orchard fruits (red and green apples, pear) and later strong blue and black berries (cassis). This bottle exploded with a loud pop then small bubbles and a frothy juice mousse that dissipated quickly. Sweet pureed and toffee apples in the mouth, with light cake spices, a lower dosage would make this cuvée more vivacious.

The nose is reserved! Deep and compact layers of concentrated yellow flower and fruit sensations. Crunchy sponge cake textured bubbles and airy mousse salivate on the well balanced palate, creamy patisserie and boulangerie characters, textural sensations strong and long to accompany a continuous banquet at the table.

Gault&Millau's review
Reflecting the opaque salmon robe with amber gold reflections, the compact nose at first releases apple, then red berries followed by yellow fruits and prune, held with Chardonnay tightness. A strong mousse with black tea leaf textured bubbles continue on the palate, still seemingly balanced while the dosage sweetness masks the potential natural fruit characters, also softening the tannic textures. A powerful rosé for the table or BBQ.

Gault&Millau's review
A deep, compact nose before layers of apple start to release, with restrained pastry notes. Quite large bubbles evaporate on the clear mousse. Sweet red apple flesh and tarte Tatin on the palate, weighing on the potential mineral delicacy and finesse expected of Cramant that would express with a lower dosage.

Gault&Millau's review
The nose is buttery smooth with yellow flowers (despite not MLF or oak), feeling subdued rather than floral or fruity. As the tiny bubbles and mousse evaporate, the palate feels polished and golden with tangy sensations rather than fruit or flavours. Like drinking from a golden cup, this reflective wine will pair well at the table, leaving you wanting more.
