Gault&Millau's review 2026

This wine seduces with its fine bubbles and persistent freshness. The nose reveals a slight evolution with notes of honey, beeswax and roasted hazelnuts, complemented by hints of toast and mushrooms. The aromatic palette preserves candied and dried fruits. On the palate, a light attack and remarkable tension harmonize with a delicate finish of nuts, testifying to a fine maturity without loss of vitality. A gourmet wine that calls for a pan-fried porcini mushroom.

Saint-Chamant
Founded in 1930 by Pierre and Hélène Coquillette, the house is now run by Stéphane Coquillette, representing the third generation. Based in Épernay, the company owns 11.5 ha of vines, mainly planted with Chardonnay Grand Cru in Chouilly, with a small plot of Pinot Meunier in Épernay. A specialist in blanc de blancs, Saint-Chamant relies on long ageing on lees. The wines are disgorged only when ordered, preserving their freshness and unique complexity.
