Gault&Millau's review
Rémi Leroy, an oenologist and agricultural engineer who trained in Bordeaux in 2006, runs a family estate of almost 8 hectares located in Meurville, on the Côte des Bar. The clay-limestone soils come from the Upper Jurassic period. Most of the vines are Pinot Noir (72%), the king of the Côte des Bar, 20% Chardonnay and 8% Pinot Meunier. The estate aims to increase the proportion of Chardonnay when replanting, and does not use fining or filtration. All the wines in the range are superb, as the domaine skilfully manages to reconcile structure, freshness, mineral tension and breed of expression. A benchmark in the southern Aubois region.
