From the very first aromas, pear asserts itself with its freshness and juiciness, quickly followed by scents of jasmine and star anise. The palate is more restrained, with a straightforward, chiselled body before a chalky, softly lemony finish. A superb aperitif wine, but in danger of being overwhelmed by overly intense food at the table.

Champagne Paul Goerg premier cru Vertus is first and foremost the story of the union, in 1950, of eight winegrowing families, still present in the management of the house. The 120 ha of Chardonnay (85%) and Pinot Noir, all planted in Premier Cru on the Vertus terroir in the heart of the prestigious Côte des Blancs, give its champagnes exceptional quality and brilliance. In addition, they are aged beyond the average for the appellation, with four years for the non-vintage wines and eight years for the vintage wines, and low dosage.
