Gault&Millau's review
The company's history dates back to 1891 with Auguste-Louis Montaudon, then cellar master in Épernay. But it was his son who founded the company in Reims, and recorded its first successes in the sparkling atmosphere of the Roaring Twenties. Over the generations, supply contracts enabled Montaudon to become a leading brand, and Philippe Montaudon to become president of the Syndicat des courtiers en vins de Champagne. As for his son Luc, he will make the house an international success. Alliance Champagne acquired Montaudon in 2010 and guarantees its style and heritage.
