Winery presentation by Gault&Millau
In 1922, driven by a desire to pool their expertise, fourteen winemakers founded the Les Riceys cooperative winery. In 1937, the first vintages embodied this noble ambition: to introduce the world beyond the region to the terroir of Les Riceys, with its clay-limestone subsoil typical of the Côte des Bar. In the 1980s, the Marquis de Pomereuil brand was created as a tribute to the Lord of Les Riceys. The winery benefits from modern, high-quality pressing and winemaking facilities. Since 2025, the new brand identity has featured “the Marquis’s flower” as its emblem, inspired by the wild orchids of the Champagne hillsides.
