Gault&Millau's review
Jean-Charles and Marthe Ruhlmann began cultivating vines in Dambach-la-Ville in the 1960s, while looking after livestock and wheat. They marketed their first bottles in 1971 and devoted themselves fully to viticulture in the 1980s, with the arrival of their son André. In 1994, the Ruhlmann Schutz estate was created. It expanded in the 2010s with the acquisition of Château Valmont, a 30-hectare vineyard in the Corbières maritimes that has been certified organic since 2020. The Alsatian estate, which has grown to 53 hectares of vines, is in conversion. Since 2021, the 3rd generation - Antoine, Louise-Anne, Jacques-Émile and Thomas - has been running the estate.
