Winery presentation by Gault&Millau
Traces of the family can be found in Champagne as early as the 16th century, when their ancestor, Jehan, bore the name Roualet, which derives from “rouale,” an ancient tool used for working the vineyards. It wasn’t until 1922 that Jane Roualet founded the house. Since then, Jean, Gilles, and now Brice have succeeded one another at the estate. The vineyard comprises 5 hectares of Premier Cru vineyards, planted with the three main Champagne grape varieties and cultivated using environmentally friendly methods. Each grape variety is vinified separately before being blended according to the house’s style. Brice, a former chef, is developing wine tourism and offers “Champagne and Cuisine” tasting menus by reservation.
