Owned by the Fonvieille family since 1910, the Borie Vieille estate spans 30 hectares of ancient alluvial terraces, with “boulbènes” soils composed of a mixture of sand, silt, gravel, and clay. These well-drained soils, which warm up quickly, lend the wines finesse, fruitiness, and power. Facing due south, the plots benefit from the alternating climatic influences of the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, imparting freshness and roundness. True to Gaillac’s historic grape varieties for many years, the estate is managed by Pascale Roc Fonvieille, representing the fourth generation. As a member of the Vignobles et Découvertes network, you can enjoy wine tastings as well as a hiking trail.
