Delong Marlène
Gérard Delong set up in 1966 in three communes on the Sézannais hillsides (Allemant, Broyes and Sézanne), leaving the cooperative in 1980 to produce his first cuvées as a harvester and handler. When he retired in 2000, his daughter Marlène took over the business. The young woman quickly embarked on a crusade against bare soil, insecticides and over-use of products. At the same time, she adapted her viticultural practices to emphasize grape quality rather than quantity. Sustainable viticulture has become so well established that biodiversity is making a comeback on the estate's 5.3 ha. With the arrival of her husband Damien in 2008, roles were divided: he in the vineyard and she in the cellar. Here too, Marlène observes and limits inputs: very few sulfites, indigenous yeasts and bacteria. HVE 3 and VDC certified, the estate's first harvest was certified organic in 2023.
