Winery presentation by Gault&Millau
A little gem of the Anjou Noir region, with its 25 hectares—including about 20 of Chenin—certified organic since 1995 and biodynamic since 2008, Château de Plaisance spans the terroirs of Chaume, Quarts-de-Chaume, and Savennières. Long owned by the Rochais family, it was taken over in 2019 by Vanessa Cherruau. Since her sensational arrival, the young winemaker has taken the non-interventionist philosophy a step further: single-vineyard cuvées, natural winemaking in barrels, concrete tanks, or amphorae, and grass cover between the rows.
