Located in Lisle-sur-Tarn, the Château d’Escabes, built in the 17th century, has been owned by the Hauchard family since 1974, which today combines tradition and innovation to promote the Gaillac appellation. Spanning 70 hectares, including 55 of vineyards, the estate boasts rich biodiversity. The soils, a blend of clay-limestone, boulbènes, and gravel, form a mosaic of soil types that enriches the complexity of the wines, while the biodiversity of the forest edges—featuring rare tree species—reinforces the vineyard’s natural balance and ecological identity. Certified organic since 2021, the estate cultivates iconic grape varieties such as Mauzac, Loin de l’Œil, Duras, and Braucol. Since 2025, the estate has also offered an ampelographic and botanical tour.
