Gault&Millau's review 2026

The wine’s evolution is evident in lovely aromas of morel mushrooms and truffles, complemented by notes of fig, brandy-soaked plum, and black tea. On the palate, the forest floor character remains present, but the texture is delicate and refreshing. It’s very light and airy. Dried fruits, honey, nutmeg, and a salty finish make this a wine that pairs exceptionally well with meals—and, why not, with roasted white meat. Excellent value for the price.

Château d'Avrillé - Biotteau Frères
A majestic vineyard in the Loire Valley, Château d’Avrillé is the legacy of a family history spanning four generations. The estate’s main grape varieties—Chenin, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Pinot Noir—are used to produce a wide range of dry and sweet white wines, rosés, reds, Crémants de Loire, and sparkling wines, along with several cuvées under the Anjou Brissac and Coteaux-de-l’Aubance appellations.
