Gault&Millau's review
Virginie and Laurent Vanpoperinghe cultivate a 6-hectare vineyard in the Marne Valley, in the areas of Damery (4ha) and 4 neighboring villages (2ha), which are farmed organically. Cuvées are aged entirely or partially in barrels. The result is a wide range of champagnes, wines, ratafia and spirits, most of which have spent a long time in the cellar, with some champagne cuvées being corked. The owners are happy to offer a tour of the winery (press, vat room, cellars, disgorging area and some old machinery) to explain their way of working. The estate has been converting to organic farming since 2020.
