Description

Yamada is one of the oldest Japanese restaurants in Marseille, having opened nearly 30 years ago. The authenticity of recipes from the Land of the Rising Sun shines through in each of the sushi roll specialties served on generous platters: California rolls, crispy rolls, and spring rolls are among the restaurant’s most popular items. You’ll also discover tobiko with Label Rouge salmon or eel chirashi—less well-known but just as delicious. In a serene, modern setting—featuring a turtle pond—you’ll appreciate both the peaceful atmosphere and the quality of the cuisine. Located near the prefecture, the restaurant is just a 15-minute walk from the Old Port. Starting this September, the chef-manager—who is as imaginative as he is creative—plans to expand the menu with several new items, including the famous poke bowls and push rolls, a Japanese trend that’s giving culinary fads from the United States a run for their money. A must-visit spot!
