Gault&Millau's review 2026

Florence and Gérald Letondeur run this friendly bistro, nestled in a 17th-century mansion whose pediment is listed as a historic monument. The chef puts his experience, acquired with Julien Binz at the Rendez-Vous de Chasse in Colmar, to good use in a bistro-style cuisine based on market trends. We love his passion, which infuses gourmandise into everything he touches. The tone is set right from the amuse-bouche: a morel broth, concentrated, deep and remarkably intense. For starters, the marrow bone is adorned with smoked eel and truffle, alas insensitive, but with a generous sauce; it's accompanied by freshly baked Berber bread. The pièce de résistance: cod of impeccable freshness, steamed with precision, flanked by a risotto of venere rice and enhanced by a creamy sauce. For the sweet finale, the creamy, creamy rice pudding is refreshed by a pineapple salad and exotic homemade ice cream. The décor, bohemian and unpretentious, evokes a craftsman's home: school chairs, old posters, bottles in the window and panelled walls create a setting as sincere as the cuisine. As for the cellar, it reflects the passion of an enlightened collector, with a marked predilection for Alsatian vintages, particularly the Rieslings, emblematic of the region. An address we recommend to lovers of lively, sincere cuisine, where every plate bears the mark of an assumed pleasure in cooking.
