Philippe Tessier's large bourgeois house on the outskirts of Thionville is a must-visit address in the area, for the elegance of its surroundings, at once intimate with its dark colors, modern and chic with its furnishings, and refined with its care and harmony. Special occasions are a logical choice, whether for two or the whole family, with traditional cuisine revisited and well executed. On the menu, for example, red tuna tartare with grilled sesame seeds, fine herbs and condiments, passion fruit jelly; cod with olive oil, caper sauce, spring onions and confit tomatoes, green asparagus tips and crushed potatoes with grilled almonds; a classic sweetbread heart braised with morels and yellow wine, grandmother's purée; or a warm half-baked cookie with dark chocolate, crème anglaise and vanilla ice cream.
