Gault&Millau's review 2025

We wouldn't be surprised to run into Miss Marple on her way back from the beach. This 1900 building overlooking the bay of Tresmeur is like a cosy English interlude, very comfortable, a little old-fashioned, but so delightful. The Jouanny family takes great care of it. A large number of regulars take their seats in the vast dining room, which is especially noteworthy for its panoramic view. The service is adorable, but could do with a little more relaxation. The menu doesn't take any risks. It's consensual, to say the least, and relies on local sourcing wherever possible. The tartar of sea bream with spring onions, seaweed and lime is a fresh and invigorating starter. The beautiful pollack is adorned with a beurre blanc that's not lacking in character. The only regret concerns the vegetable accompaniment: chard, rather unrepresentative of a late spring when green beans, peas... fill the stalls. For dessert, make way for the timeless Grand Marnier soufflé. The wine list is very well presented and offers a wide choice of quality wines: savennières Clos St Yves, vouvray from domaine Huet, jura from David Geneletti, cahors from domaine Triguedina, maury (sec) from Mas Amiel, mâcon-fuissé from Sophie Cinier...
