In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, between blond stones and the scent of Japanese whisky, Shin Izakaya celebrates the art of sharing. Designed by Victoria Luciano and Keita Sukeno, the restaurant reinvents the Japanese bistro in a warm atmosphere of dark wood, old walls and kintsugi tiles. "Shin" pays homage to Keita's father, while "Izakaya" evokes the lively counters of popular Japan, where people laugh, toast and munch. In the kitchen, the recipes handed down by Keita's mother, originally from Osaka, inspire a sincere menu: crispy karaage marinated for twenty-four hours, melting miso eggplant, kinpira salsify with sesame. In the glass, a perfectly measured Highball or a Nippon whisky prolong the journey. Shin Izakaya doesn't play the folklore card: it embodies a living Japan, simple and joyful, where you feel at home down to the smallest detail.
