Chef's Restaurant A haven for gourmets in the city center, a Mâcon landmark, La Table de Pierre. Christian Gaulin has been indulging here for thirty years, serving a loyal clientele who can't think of any other ceremony venue. You can bet big on this prestigious course, with lobster marinated in ginger and coconut milk in Thai jelly, turmeric cream, duck foie gras confit and rillette of duck lacquered with vine peach, Charolais tournedos with pan-fried foie gras and wild mushroom and black truffle sauce, in a sequence where everything is meticulous and well justified, including the copious prices. Beautiful classic desserts, pleasant Terroir menu at €70, cellar favoring Mâconnais and Côte Chalonnaise, with a range of great keels throughout the vineyards.
