In Vayres, where the tidal surge regularly flows up the Dordogne River, chef Pierre Rigothier has also changed course. In the fall of 2024, he’s turning the page on Lune and transforming his former fine-dining restaurant into Felicità, a more accessible and welcoming Franco-Italian trattoria. In a refined yet warm setting, the menu centers on a selection of Italian cured meats and aged cheeses, antipasti—including a particularly excellent vitello tonnato—as well as pasta and risottos. The mezze maniche alla carbonara—naturally cream-free—is served alongside a more conventional risotto al polpo. Here, you’ll find exactly what you came for: generous, authentic cuisine without excessive pretension. At lunchtime, a €22 set menu changes weekly and offers excellent value for money. The wine cellar features a wide selection of Italian wines, particularly from Sicily.
