Facing La Rochelle's Old Port, this is a clear-cut gastronomic address, featuring precise, contemporary seafood cuisine. The elegant setting, bathed in soft light, quickly establishes a comfortable atmosphere, extended by a welcome that is both professional and friendly. The menu reflects an assertive marine identity, with attention paid to the product and the season. The tartare, with its blend of oysters, salers and vegetal notes, is a fine contrast between iodized freshness and crispness. The Charentais trout, golden brown on the skin, is part of a more gourmet score, combining precise cooking, the relief of asparagus and the depth of beurre blanc. For dessert, vanilla and peanut offer a successful interplay of textures, between melt-in-the-mouth and crunchy, in a register that's both clean and gourmand. The wine list, with its focus on winegrowers, offers a coherent mix of great regions and more confidential estates, with a wide range of prices.
