Description

After a long career on the Côte d'Azur, Eva Papasseudi settled in Châteaulin, between Brest and Quimper, to "bring some sunshine to Brittany". Indeed, at Nikaïa, Mediterranean cuisine has pride of place, with a unique menu at lunchtime and an à la carte menu in the evening and at weekends. Vegetables from the local organic market gardener, Breton fish and meat all come together in a well-balanced, refined setting where the pleasure of the eye precedes that of the taste buds. From a menu that changes every two months, starters include crispy panis niçois or parmigiana (eggplant gratin with homemade tomato sauce, parmesan and mozzarella), gambas flambéed in pastis with smoked fish risotto, lobster bisque and buckwheat tuiles with squid ink, and pies for dessert that vary according to the fruit in season. To enjoy these tasty specialties, you can sit out on the terrace overlooking the Aulne canal, or inside, in an atmosphere between navy blue and white, reminiscent of whitewashed houses.
