After the success of Localino in Paris, Localino has now moved to the sea, with their new address on boulevard Vauban. The place ticks all the boxes of the trendy trattoria: the large marble island, serving as both counter and open kitchen, the coarse stone walls, the deliberately loft style, the superb disco playlist, and finally the cheerful service led by Giulia Alesini. In the kitchen, two Italian brothers who worked with Bruno Verjus at Cavalieri, Kevin and Cristian Stradaioli, work rhythmically to offer a cuisine full of authenticity, which is best appreciated in the daily suggestions rather than the set menu. We're delighted with real tripe à la romaine, a plate of ricotta-lemon ravioli with butter and parmesan sauce, and wonderful linguine with mussels à la tarentaise, cooked perfectly al dente. Mantua sbrisolona is an astonishing shortbread dessert with mascarpone cream. To start with, the charcuterie cupboard has no shortage of goodies to share. Prices are a little high, but the moment is one of rare conviviality.
