The image is seductive: on the Antibes jetty, these Vieux Murs have been attracting customers year after year for the past seventeen years, under chef Stéphane Arnal's guidance, to the chic glamour of the French Riviera, seduced by a perfectly mastered aesthetic - exposed stone, overhanging terrace, open perspective on the sea, impeccable white tablecloths - that creates a veritable postcard setting. The extensive, reassuring menu, featuring seafood products, pasta flambéed with grappa in Parmesan cheese, classic meats and dishes to share, Grand Marnier soufflé, homemade sorbets... is designed to satisfy all tastes without excessive risk-taking. A four-course LVM menu at €60 offers a valid alternative, evolving with the seasons and the chef's inspirations, thus mitigating the impact of sometimes ambitious à la carte prices. The well-structured cellar, rooted in the region's vineyards, completes the picture. Service is sometimes inconsistent. The pertinent alternative: a well-executed aperitif on L'Amiral's terrace, in the front row, facing the sea.
