The clientele from the northern suburbs—Rouen’s executives and middle class—flock in droves to this impersonal dining room in the city’s shopping center, right next to City Hall, especially for lunch, drawn by the €23 “Ardoise du Midi” special. Little attention is paid to the view of the Carrefour Market across the street, and the large staff effortlessly handles the eighty-seat dining room; part of the team, including the head chef, has worked at Gilles Tournadre’s restaurants. The following set menus, priced at €32, €38, and €47, offer a standardized selection in keeping with current trends: gravlax salmon with red cabbage, seared scallops with port reduction and hummus, sea bass fillet, tajine-style vegetables, well-cooked veal tenderloin with a generous timbale of Venere rice. Desserts follow the same trend (gingerbread French toast with mango, shortbread, and citrus mascarpone), and the wine list is classic and varied.
