Gault&Millau's review 2026
Chef's Restaurant
After his first stint a few years ago as head chef at this restaurant—which was then run by his parents—Félix Charlemagne is back, now at the helm all by himself. From the outside, the place is as charming as ever. The same goes for the interior, which plays on the contrasts between tradition and modernity, with its eclectic furnishings lending a cheerful, laid-back atmosphere. The dishes are visually appealing. No frills here. The focus is on the essentials—and it works beautifully. Take, for example, these tagliatelle with raw cuttlefish, perfectly complemented by a rich ajo blanco and topped with a delicate layer of paper-thin beet slices. The beautiful local poultry with its crispy skin pairs perfectly with a rich polenta, enhanced by a perfect poultry jus with notes of smoked paprika and tarragon. As for the seasonal apricot, it makes a confident appearance to round out the meal. The service is pleasant, though it could show a bit more enthusiasm in showcasing the lovely wine list.
