Gault&Millau's review2026
La table de Nathalie et Arnaud Beauvais is one of Lorient's oldest and liveliest restaurants. Nearly forty years in business and still going strong, with sensitivity and passion emanating from both Nathalie's dishes and Arnaud's service, the pleasure of entertaining and doing good. The plates breathe this taste for the product, playful and generous compositions, giving us the opportunity to discover an original and intense Breton cuisine. In this slightly Japanese decor, an entirely glazed room overlooking a small, delicately designed city garden, we discover the shucked spider meat with coffee-infused cream and butternut chutney, followed by one of Nathalie's signature dishes, a superb leg of monkfish braised in ribot milk with lightly smoked Molène sausage, buckwheat flan and vegetable fondue, an ode to the terroir, a hazelnut cake softened by vanilla fromage blanc and chocolate fondant glacé. The cellar is well-educated, in the Loire and elsewhere (Jo Landron, domaine Aux moines, Patrice Colin, Dauvissat, Guillemot-Michel, château Lafoux, clos Venturi...). Although the restaurant will close for good on December 31, 2025 (hurry up!), the couple are not stopping their activities altogether, and are still offering cooking classes and workshops.
