Prestige Restaurant A place for everyone, a palace you can enter without a noble title, a party where you are the hero. Whether you're a scholar or a layman, an initiate or just visiting, you'll take immense pleasure in being the princess or prince for an evening in the incredible décor of frescoes and cute, angelic sculptures of this private mansion, decorated in its entirety (including, of course, the bar with its cosy southern charm and the splendid bedrooms) with great care in the choice and play of color around noble materials. Because it's all there in front of you, and that's the undeniable success of Jacques and Laurent Pourcel, and their long-time accomplice Olivier Château: good taste, profusion and rhythm. The menu is full of game, with everything to tempt the palate, evoking a permanent zapateado, unfolding a beautiful story that begins with the fireworks of the appetizers (including the remarkable leek amberjack) and the parade of cheerful plates, exciting in presentation, sometimes a little uneven in finish, but always enticing as only the Pourcel family knows how. Examples include the excellent two-course "shellfish platter", a marvel of freshness and taste, duck foie gras ravioli with porcini mushrooms, Mediterranean monkfish fricassee with violet artichokes, clams plancha and tomato ravioli, or herb-crusted lamb noisettes with lemon anise juice and lamb samossa. Another house constant is the quality of the desserts, with the first delicious wild strawberries in passion juice and a model shiso sorbet. The cellar overflows with grands crus and connoisseur's references from Languedoc. Service is just right, zealously accompanying a regal score.
