Remarkable Restaurant David Gallienne is more than just an excellent chef, he's also an enterprising entrepreneur full of ideas. This year, he took a new turn by bringing in Cyril Boulais as executive chef, who was Grand de Demain en 2022 when he worked at La Marine de Barneville. With this new impetus, the whole house is moving forward, in terms of structure, hospitality and, of course, the precision of the plates and the science of juices and broths. Just a stone's throw from Monet's house, this pretty villa shines in its garden, decorated with cheerfulness and good taste. Also evolving in adult size, the offer is no longer limited to menus without choice, but to a real menu that allows you to taste the seasonal proposals: the remarkable, and very beautiful, tomato stuffed with tomato, spices, tomato water and garden herbs; langoustine in a veil over fevettes and Thai coriander pig's trotter with a very good langoustine broth; pollock, impeccably precise, zucchini strips, Mont Saint-Michel mussels in marinière juice, before a fine three-course lamb work (low-temperature rack of eggplant and apricot, leg of lamb melting in the mouth, cassolette shoulder of saddle ham and panoufle) and an addictive raspberry petit suisse dessert. The young team in the dining room is smiling and motivated, and the cellar is well-equipped, particularly for the Loire but also for the South, with a coherent range of wines by the glass that can still be expanded.
