This small restaurant, open from early April through late September, is a true Ardèche institution; it’s always bustling and has countless regulars. On the menu: a family-run operation that brings a contagious good cheer and an unwavering passion for quality ingredients. In a cozy setting with exposed stone walls and surrounded by quirky finds from local flea markets, you’ll enjoy grilled meats carefully selected for their tenderness and flavor: Argentine Angus entrecôte, Irish Angus rib roast, Iberian pork pluma, or duck from Quercy or Périgord. Another house specialty: fresh Mediterranean mussels delivered daily, served with homemade fries. Seasonal vegetables come from the village, the delicious charcuterie is from the Ardèche-based Trouillas, and the wine list also showcases the Ardèche with a superb selection from the Jalès Cruzières family cellar. Other must-try delights: the house-made foie gras and the fresh, house-made salmon tartare! Not to mention the chef’s decadent chocolate mousse! Reservations are strongly recommended. Open Wednesday through Sunday from April 1 to September 30, and seven days a week in July and August.
