Located in the center of Morzine opposite La Chamade restaurant, owned by the Thorens family since 1969, Le Coup de Cœur opened its doors in July 2009. "The location is ideal, so we wanted to create a wine bar here," explains Valérie. She handles the selection with her daughter, Amélie, who manages the establishment. "We have 220 references from proprietors and growers," they explain. Savoie is in the spotlight, with nuggets like the "C'Dhuysan" wine from Domaine Grisard. All regions of France are represented, as well as foreign wines (Chile, Argentina, Portugal, Spain.) Customers, both locals and tourists, appreciate these discoveries, by the glass or bottle, on the premises or to take away. The decor is red, with a chalkboard on the ceiling. The large, tree-lined terrace is the perfect place to take a lunch break over tapas, which vary according to the season. Vegetables come from the Jardins de l'Abbaye, a 5,000m2 vegetable garden created by Thierry Thorens, former head chef at La Chamade. Some evenings, there's live music from French, English and Irish bands! In summer, the restaurant is open 7 days a week.
