Gault&Millau's review 2026

On the esplanade, this large building facing the Palais is a real eye-catcher. In summer, the vast terrace is crowded and free tables are rare. The kitchen may look a little powdery to tourists, but it's staffed, right down to the kitchen, and the specifications - to do the job properly, take care of the presentation, not butcher the product - are pretty well met, with the added bonus of a well-briefed service team that knows how to put in the work. We manage to keep things simple with the salmon pesto sorrel steak, the beef and reblochon burger and the beef cheek with red wine. The café gourmand is less than €10. Planks for the wine bar mode, a varied cellar, a "Grand Menu" at €49.
