Le Bistrot des Docks is neighborhood spirit at its best, with a warm atmosphere and a smiling welcome from Sophia and "Mamoune", the chef's mother. It's sincere, market-fresh cuisine from a chef who's been in the kitchen since he was a boy. The short, seasonal menu features generous dishes, expertly prepared by Nicolas Mendjisky, who has worked at Christian Plumail and Séjour Café. Here, everything exudes simplicity well done, from the homemade foie gras, whose recipe hasn't changed one iota for ages - when it's good, don't touch anything, to the scallops in shell flanked by a leek and roasted pear sauce, simply flash-fried for a few moments in the oven with a good semi-salted butter, farmhouse pork loin cooked at low temperature for fifteen hours, pearly cod back, chocolate parfait mi-cuit, pavlova and pear poached in red wine, not forgetting the daily special at €16. The service is attentive, the produce from the "Libé" market is right next door, the portions are hearty, and the wines, sourced with brio, come from the neighboring cellar. A true family bistro where you'll come back again and again for the pleasure of good food, without the fuss.
