Description

A trendy club on Île de Ré, this spot has been a well-known institution among the island’s residents for 95 years. In addition to its location within the Vauban ramparts—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—Le Bastion is the go-to spot for nightlife on Île de Ré. In 2012, Jean-Audouin, Jean-Damien, and Charles decided to add a restaurant concept to the venue by bringing on Emmanuel Dikieka, an inventive and passionate chef whose proven track record at some of France’s finest restaurants fuels his boundless imagination in crafting exquisite dishes: semi-cooked Rossini-style tuna with truffle-infused Périgueux sauce and smoked purée made with beechwood shavings, Atlantic sea bass cooked at a controlled temperature until just pearly… Here, the stocks and gravies are made in-house! Le Bastion’s signature dessert features a warm chocolate mousse whipped with a siphon over a crumble-style biscuit base, vanilla ice cream, fleur de sel from the Île de Ré, and an almond tuile—a must-try to be enjoyed to your heart’s content on the terrace with a panoramic view of the bay. A dream come true! A superb selection of vintage wines will complement each of your dishes. And if you prefer to snack, delightful tapas and magnificent cocktails crafted by Loïc, the bartender, will make for a festive evening in the club area, complete with DJ sets. Open from April through October. The restaurant is open for dinner, 7 days a week, in July and August; and for dinner only, Wednesday through Sunday, from April through June and from September through October. Follow the restaurant on social media: Facebook (@lebastionclub) and Instagram (@lebastionclub).
