A beautiful, elegant retreat for a vacation in the Périgord, close to all the tourist attractions, prehistoric sites, castles, the Dordogne Valley, and fine dining. The restaurant, Le 1862, offers a short menu featuring tried-and-true classics that make for well-crafted meals: chestnut-flavored chanterelles, Eyzies trout prepared ikéjime-style with Reine-Claude plums and green beans, juniper-smoked pigeon with blackberries and brocoletti, yellow and green kiwis with Chasselas grapes and Isigny cream. A lovely five-course set menu for €125, with high-quality service and a wine cellar featuring selections from both the Dordogne and the Bordeaux region.
