The second table at the Trianon Palace - Waldorf Astoria is a fine feast for those who invest in these historic venues without losing their piggy banks. Less gastro than Gordon Ramsay's table, it benefits from an attractive setting - a superb veranda decorated by Fiona Thompson - and a well-executed cuisine. The result is a varied menu with something for everyone: black tiger prawns with pistachio guacamole, sole meunière, spinach and chanterelle risotto, tartare au couteau, sweetbreads with Jura wine sauce, pear and pecan saint-honoré.
