Just a stone's throw from Saint-Epvre Church, behind an unassuming gray facade, this restaurant offers a refined setting where Chef Bertrand Heckmann skillfully creates dishes that are creative, precise, and full of flavor. The restaurant offers several set menus at €29, €38, and €53, as well as a tasting menu at €64, whose value for money is well worth noting. The quality of the ingredients is paired with impeccable technical skill. The grilled foie gras, served with chanterelle mushrooms and a forest-style sauce, offers subtle notes of the forest floor; the Arctic char, cooked to perfection, is served with a medley of peas and carrots, delicately seasoned with a lemony savory oil that adds freshness and vibrancy; and what can be said of the pigeon charlotte, cooked to perfection and elevated by its black curry-infused reduction; the meal concludes with a light and airy raspberry soufflé. To complement this cuisine, there is an excellent wine list featuring selections from all regions, with the Saumur from Guiberteau being particularly noteworthy. The staff is friendly and attentive.
