It's almost unexpected, in this typically Angevine building, to find a lively menu, well in tune with current events, in both ingredients and preparations, by a chef full of ideas and enthusiasm, Marie Monmousseau: cheese naan for aperitif, fried squid with Espelette chilli, scallop carpaccio with chayote and coriander curry vinaigrette, pan-fried lamb sweetbreads with homemade purée, venison parmentier in hunting season with red fruit coleslaw. And there's even more good ideas for desserts, cocktails and the cellar, where you can discover new winemakers in a vast cellar of wines from all regions, both well-known and lesser-known.
