Gault&Millau's review2025
This charming manor house south of Compiègne is home to Jean Bataille, a former Ferrandi chef, and his wife Céline, formerly of Le Meurice and Plaza Athénée. In addition to the charm of the premises and the comfort of the rooms, the main attraction is the chef's fine cuisine, in an accessible, bourgeois style that's as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate. The menu includes six escargots du pays Picard, wok of gambas and snow peas, roasted cod with Dieppoise sauce, smoked paprika and early potatoes, grilled duck breast, roasted peach, barbecue sauce and pommes macaire... Classic desserts. Service brought to you.
