Gault&Millau's review 2026

Even though you can’t see it, the beautiful Lake Madine is very close by, and there’s no shortage of opportunities to feast your eyes—and more. Before or after a visit to Quentin Pierre, a young chef inspired by the beautiful natural surroundings of the Meuse region—its waters and forests—and whom Gault&Millau has supported since the opening of this essential restaurant in a rather sparse gastronomic landscape. In the small, contemporary dining room, expertly managed by a motivated young service team, the chef showcases local ingredients while applying his technical skill—from a beautiful foie gras with raspberries and balsamic vinegar to a low-temperature pikeperch served with various zucchini preparations, a meticulously prepared pigeon, carrots, and apricots, followed by a delicious seasonal dessert of mirabelle plums and chicory. The ingredients are carefully selected—including bread from Gorze and beer from Grimaucourt—and complemented by a lovely little wine cellar that also puts local wines in the spotlight.
